spawnofchaos High quality melodic and atmospheric metal. I can't believe it took me this long to find out about such a stellar band from my own home town. Favorite track: Fever Dream.
YananaY
YananaY thumbnail
YananaY Two years after the release, I still keep coming back to this album. The nostalgia and sadness each song expresses sound hearfelt and sincere. It also has awesome guitar riffs, great growling vocals and beautiful melodies. Amazing quality doom metal! Favorite track: The Longing.

YomaBarr If somebody asked me to introduce them to metal I guess I'd give them Fever Dream.

bmurator Progressive / Melodic / Death / Doom Metal from New Zealand. A stunning album in many ways! Could listen to this on repeat for a very long time, it is intricate & captivating & yet catchy in just the right proportions. Love it! Very highly recommended!!!
Omnio

Omnio I haven't felt this way about a band since the 1990s. Pure, unadulterated, gothic/black/death/doom. There's literally something for every metalhead. GET IT. Favorite track: Away.
Bolthorn

Bolthorn Been immediately caught by "Unearthly Burial", this album is simply brilliant. Powerful, atmospheric and touching at the same time. One of the best releases of the year in this genre for sure

I am alive At the edge of the void To start again Cold and alone But for what purpose do I live on? Death is no ruler An empty throne The seventh cycle The reasons mystify Another aimless journey To where the earth meets sky Not even death can rule this wretched place Feel the spectral pull of unknown fate Wander the land 'neath an empty throne
2.
Away 07:38
This is the place This is where she waits for me Time and again A solitary counterpart in this wasteland Hounded by wolves The parasites desperate for life Climb to the crest A diaphanous form A single fleeting glimpse Then she's gone In the light of day Away This cannot be This is where she waits for me Time and again Together until the end Through countless cycles Of death and rebirth She is all that I have In the light of day Away This time it's different Left in the cold In the light of day Away
3.
The Longing 07:22
Let it end Abandoned Left without purpose Days, weeks, years A desolate age without measure Pale, so pale A hunger so grave Destined for ruin Afraid, so afraid What is to become of this lost soul? All that was Two trapped beings A trial eternal Not a sound A mind left alone is a mind in peril Strength in love The will to pursue The need to find you Weak, so weak As long as there is breath in these lungs The search goes on The hunger burns The body frail The longing grows Crawl to the place Where the earth meets the sky Where everything ends Until we meet again Under such circumstances I fear it's the last time The heart it yearns The body pales The longing ends Collapse into earth

Behold! The stars are colliding A fiery blaze in the Cosmic Eye Fear! The cosmos dividing Winds of the end freezing blood and time Slowly beginning to rise Lifeless, towards the sky Never before has there been such a blinding light Watching in dismay Taken by the night Faster she continues to rise Swallowed by the rupturing sky Unearthly Burial All is dark Black unknown She is lost I am alone
6.
Fever Dream 12:18
Burning and spinning Writhing and weakening The blood runs cold Feel the strength draining Conciousness waning Dimension unknown Shallow and laboured Every breath savoured Clinging to life Terminal confusion Abrupt dissolution Forsaken by the light All things must end The cycle is broken Last minute clarity The throne is reclaimed Death is renewed Caught in the grip of a fever dream Muffled whispers Fragments of a passing life Memories fading Every word failing Scarcely alive Sudden lucidity Sorrowful imagery This is where we part No repetition No reconnection No going back to the start You held me dear But there was nothing Nothing more you could do You left me here In the clutch of a dream A recurring scene To live out the rest of my days All things must end The cycle is broken Last minute clarity The throne is reclaimed Death is renewed Caught in the grip of a fever dream Deep inside I think I knew it all along I must go and leave you to carry on No escaping the end and its sad, mortal song Deep inside I think I knew it all along For what seems like aeons I've been desperate for this dream to end But now that I'm here and you're not I'd give it all just to dream it again

about

'Star-Crossed' is the sixth Lysithea release, the follow-up to 2015's 'Realms'.

The album tells a dark tale of love, loss and mortality; weaving together soaring leads, punishing roars, and an unearthly atmosphere. 'Star-Crossed' finds the band at its most pensive and powerful.
